Xavier: Lightseeker

StellaEmerald / Green
WeaponSword
Scaling statATK

Xavier’s Lightseeker is an ATK scaling myth that is simple to use and the only myth that does not need an ORB at R0 in orbits if played properly. His preferred weapon is the Hunter Claymore.

Column

Strengths

  • As long as you can trigger perfect dodges, R0 & R-1 do not need ORB in 2 minute battles.
  • Wide AOE on his resonance.

Weaknesses

  • His signature weapon is often considered worse than any of the standard Hunter weapons.
  • Dies easily if you do not properly manage using his Support Skill.

Quick Summary

If you don’t know what acronyms means, you can find them in Glossary.

Lunimescent Field
Resonance skill (15s CD) (2 energy cost)
You and Xavier summon a massive Radiant Blade that pierces the ground to break protocore shield(s) and deal damage in a large AOE. The blade will create a large field that lasts for 10s and while you are in it, you will get a 10% ATK bonus (Xavier also receives this bonus as long as he is in the field). If the Radiant Blade is used to put an enemy into weakness, this bonus will increase by 20%.

Note

Radiant Star
Passive skill
When you are within the field from your resonance skill, active skills that hit enemies will do additional AOE damage around you (Luminescent Resonance).

Signature Weapon: Luminescence Blade

Slicing Light
Basic attack / Charged attack

Shining Blade’s Shadow
Active Skill (7s CD) (1 energy cost)
Charges up for a brief moment to deal damage in a small AOE in front of you.

Song of Light
Passive skill
Each time Luminescent Resonance (Xavier’s Passive skill) is triggered, it generates 0.35 energy.

Active Pair Bonuses

  • R0 - Active skill damage is increased by 25%
  • R1 - Whenever you trigger Luminescent Resonance (Xavier’s Support Skill), the Luminescent Field is extended by 2s
  • R2 - When you and Xavier are within the Luminescent Field, you take less damage and have increased resistance to interruption
  • R3 - When you hit enemies with Charged Attacks inside the Luminescent Field, your Active CD is reduced by 2s

Regardless of Rank, Lightseeker does not have a very strict rotation, aside from using the resonance skill to gain an attack buff. In general, gameplay involves just using resonance and active skills as soon as they are available, and then using charged attacks while waiting for CDs to end. This means EEB is essential to play.

Companions are usually very good at dodging attacks on their own, but when Xavier uses his support skill, he becomes locked in place for a good amount of time and cannot dodge incoming attacks. Using Xavier’s support skill when a Boss (and any heavy attacking mob) is attacking him will often cause him to lose HP very quickly, so be careful when you use it. This can sometimes be used to your advantage since it will also summon Xavier to your side, so you can use it to get Xavier out of danger. Empowered supports are executed with opponents frozen, so they are safe to execute.

Weapon choice

In general, LT performs best with the Hunter Claymore (especially at lower ranks) because he is an ATK scaling companion and none of his skills are tied specifically to his signature weapon. His signature weapon has identical modifiers to the regular Hunter Sword, but doesn’t have the hunter sword’s damage bonus, meaning that it deals lower damage overall.

R0 & R-1

Most myths at R0 and R-1 need to equip an ORB in 2-minute battles but LT is unique in that using empowered supports will charge up the oath. R0 LT (and R-1 on other R0 pair cards) needs two empowered supports to get an oath within 1 minute (four in a 2 minute battle to get both oaths). For R-1 with an R1+ 4* solar pair, the R1 pairbonus provides 10% ORB, so only one support is needed per oath within a minute (two in a 2 minute battle to get both oaths). If you are not confident about triggering the required empowered supports, you can equip an ORB at level 9 or higher as usual.
