General

  • LI - love interest.
  • OG3 - refers to original 3 men: Xavier, Rafayel, Zayne.
  • FTP/F2P - free to play; a player who does not spend any money on this game
  • Whale - general term for someone who spends a lot in this game
  • RNG - “random number generation” except no one actually calls it that. Basically just the randomness of anything (trust us, this game’s combat has way too much RNG to explain here). A “good RNG run” means that lady luck was on your side and you got lots of high damage numbers.
  • Minstat - using very low overall stats to clear a stage. Usually the lowest stats that can be used to clear that stage.
  • Overstat - the team’s stats are a good deal higher than is needed to beat the stage if the companion’s kit is played properly.
  • ATK/HP/DEF - Attack/hit points/defense
  • Mald - went from “mad” + “bald”, which means stress from combat to the point of losing hair. Often used to describe a hard stage which requires a lot of tries and luck. 

Companion kit

  • Companion - this is who you fight alongside in battles.
  • Free companion - the game gives free 4⭐ companions for all LI.
  • Myth companion - 5⭐ companion that needs to be unlocked from gacha.
  • Kit - general term for the sum of all the skills a companion can do
  • Rotation - the specific order of different attacks. When optimised, will do the maximum damage
  • Button mashing - refers to repeatedly tapping an attack without consideration for rotation
  • Cooldown (CD) - some actions need to be charged over time before they can be used again, namely the active, resonance and support skills
  • Buff - a positive effect during battle from abilities or other sources.
  • Debuff - a negative effect that can harm or decrease stats.
  • AoE - “area of effect”; used to describe an attack that can cause damage over a region instead of just one specific enemy / single target.
  • DoT - “damage over time”; used to describe mechanics that cause HP loss not from direct hits, but from debuff or AoE zone.
  • Crowd Control - an ability some companions may have that help manage mobs.

Team and Cards

  • Lunar Card - has a crescent moon icon; a maximum of 4 can be equipped in a team.
  • Solar Card - has the “sun” icon; a maximum of 2 can be equipped in a team.
  • Solar Pair - two solar cards that are matched; pairs are represented by two letters.
  • Myth - a 5⭐ solar pair; unlocks a 5⭐ companion.
    • Standard Myth - can be obtained in all banners and from crates in XSpace Echo; cannot be obtained in Galaxy Explorer or wishing well shop.
    • Limited Myth - can only be obtained in limited banner runs and are usually stronger than standard myths.
  • Card talent - each card has a talent that increases d2w; can scale off of ATK/HP/DEF.
  • Rank - additional copies of a card. R0, R1, etc
  • Pair Bonus - when solar pairs are equipped, they will activate a bonus based on their rank. Ranked 5⭐ solar pairs result in additions to the kit.
    • R-1 - is used in reference to a 5⭐ companion used on a team that has not equipped the companions solar pair cards.

Battle

  • Stella - short for stellactrum; the “colour” of a stage or a card
  • D-Pad - “directional pad”; is on the left side of the screen and controls the movement of MC
  • Basic Attack (BA) - tap the weapon icon
  • Charged Attack (CA) - hold the weapon icon
  • Dodge (dash) - special charge/dash when you can avoid damage from an enemy’s attack and move a little bit backward.
    • Direct dodge (dash) - dodge in the direction dictated by the D-Pad.
    • Perfect dodge - tapping the dash/dodge button just as an enemy is about to hit you. This will trigger an empowered support skill.
  • Animation cancel -  interrupt MC attack or skill animations with another action, usually dodge.
  • Energy - allows you to use skills. Charges over time and can be sped up with eeb cores. 3 charges is the standard.
  • Active Skill (active) - usually consumes 1 energy charge to deal a special attack
  • Frangere/Frang - hunter claymore’s active skill when you have the full 3 stacks.
  • Resonance Skill (reso) - usually consumes 2 energy charges to deal a special joint attack that can break shields.
  • Ardent Oath (oath) - consumes the oath charge to deal an “ultimate” attack with your companion.
  • Support skill - tap your companion’s icon to command him to perform his special attack.
    • Empowered support - when you trigger a perfect dodge, your companion’s support will become fully charged and deal special damage if used when it is flashing.
  • Shield Lock - some enemies enter a phase that prevents their protocore shields from breaking from a resonance skill.
  • HP Lock- some enemies enter a phase that prevents any damage from being dealt to it.
  • Boss - typically only appear in stages by themselves and have special skills like HP lock; have 4 protocore shields.
  • Mob - typically appear in groups, have lower HP and easier-to-deal-with skills; have 2 or no protocore shields.

Stats

  • Base stat - a card’s fixed stats. The black stats in the card’s description.
  • Mainstat - the top most line on a core.
  • Substat - the minor stats on a core that increase every 3 levels of core.
  • Scaling stat - ATK/HP/DEF that the companion uses the most to deal damage.
  • Normal damage - indicated by white damage numbers.
  • Critical hit (crit/critting/crit hit) - when you deal additional damage, indicated by orange damage numbers.
  • Crit rate (cr, crate) - a percentage increase in the chance of dealing a critical hit.
  • Crit dmg (cd, cdmg) - a percentage increase in the additional damage dealt in a critical hit.
  • Weakened enemy (weakened state/weakened/weakness) - when a shielded enemy loses its shield due to resonance skills, indicated by Blue/Purple damage numbers
  • DMG boost to weakened (d2w) - stat that increases the amount of damage you deal to a weakened enemy.
  • Expedited Energy Boost (eeb/ee) - speeds up the charge rate of energy stars
  • Oath Recovery Boost (orb) - speeds up the charge rate of ardent oath
  • Oath’s Strength (os) - increases the damage of the ardent oath
  • Roll - a term used to describe increasing the levels, usually of a substat, on a core.
